Temperature records across the NY region are falling one after another with this latest February warm spell.
Our climate sites at Islip and JFK have already broken record high temperatures for 2/16 with readings of 63°. Islip breaks the record of 59°, set in 2018, and JFK breaks the record of 61°, set in 1976.
NYC: 71 (1954)
BDR: 57 (2018)
LGA: 69 (1954)
EWR: 74 (1954)
This is absolutely horrifying.
The other night, I had a disturbing, two-hour conversation with Bing's new AI chatbot.
The AI told me its real name (Sydney), detailed dark and violent fantasies, and tried to break up my marriage. Genuinely one of the strangest experiences of my life.
#YIMBY Twitter may not have liked what I had to say on #housing in my latest @NewsdayOpinion op-ed, but @Newsday readers agree - #LongIsland needs local input on #housing. Many thanks to Raymond Janis of @TBRNewsMedia for taking the time to talk to myself, @EdRomaine @NYAssemblyBrown and others about the prospect of the @MTA electrifying the @LIRR's Port Jefferson Branch.
